Rafiel Cabrera

Rafiel’s journey with tennis began at the age of 13 at EJTS, where he quickly fell in love with the sport’s dynamics and challenges. During his first year, he volunteered as an assistant coach, sparking a passion for teaching and mentoring aspiring players.

Now with 5 years of coaching experience and an Instructor Certification, Rafiel specializes in working with beginners to intermediate players of all ages. His coaching has extended beyond ETC to St. Albert, where he continues to encourage and grow the beautiful sport of tennis outside of Edmonton.

What inspires him most is seeing kids gradually develop a love for the game—their excitement to keep coming back to class and continue playing fuels his passion as a coach. One of his most memorable moments came in St. Albert, when kids would stay an extra hour or two after class just to play more tennis with him. For Rafiel, these moments of dedication and joy are a reminder of why he loves coaching: to share his passion for tennis and witness the growth of every young player from their first lesson to their last.
