Hoang Nguyen
Coach
Hoang began his coaching journey with Edmonton Tennis Community as an assistant and is currently in the process of completing his Instructor Certification. Guided and inspired by many great certified coaches, his appreciation for teaching has grown, and he now looks forward to helping guide the next generation of players.
With about 1.5 years of tennis coaching experience, Hoang currently works with players from U5 through U13. His coaching is fueled by the encouragement of friends and fellow coaches, and his most memorable moments come from watching kids improve, excel, and grow into well-rounded and respectful individuals both on and off the court.
Before tennis, Hoang built a strong athletic background in volleyball, competing as a high-performance athlete across Canada and internationally in Tehran, Santo Domingo, and the Dominican Republic. He also served as a technical coach for U16 and U17 men’s club teams, and competed at the World Masters in Australia in 2005 with the South Adelaide Volleyball Club.
Outside of coaching, Hoang enjoys traveling and playing tennis with his wife and kids, always pushing each other to improve their skills.
