The Edmonton Tennis Community (ETC) proudly hosted the Saville Co-Ed Doubles Tournament 2025 at the Saville Tennis Centre. This event brought together 60 enthusiastic players—forming 30 co-ed teams—for a full day of energetic, competitive, and community-focused doubles tennis. For many participants, it was their first time experiencing a tournament hosted by ETC, adding excitement to an already memorable day.

Upon check-in, players were greeted with a selection of snacks, refreshments, and their choice of Yonex over grip tape or Wilson-sponsored wristbands—a small but fun way to kick off the tournament and get players game-ready.

Teams ranged from Beginner (2.0) to Advanced (4.0), highlighting ETC’s commitment to creating opportunities for players of all skill levels. The co-ed format encouraged diverse partnerships and fostered a positive, welcoming atmosphere where players could challenge themselves, meet new teammates, and enjoy high-quality match play.

Top performers across the Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner divisions were recognized with prizing generously sponsored by Wilson and Tennis Alberta. Main draw winners received Wilson backpacks and towels, runners-up received a 3-pack of tennis balls, and consolation winners also received Wilson backpacks.

  • Main Draw Winners: Zhuji A. & Conor C.

  • Runner-Ups: Susanne T. & Frances L.

  • Consolation Winners: Ryan W. & John K.

  • Runner-Ups: Michelle Z. & Rashida S.

  • Runner-Ups: Aleksandr Y. & Agustin B.

  • Consolation Winners: Joseph C. & Christian R.

Tournament Director, Sonny, shared what these tournaments mean to him and to ETC’s mission:

“I love hosting these tournaments because they create a space for players to push themselves, build confidence, and form friendships, all while bridging the gap between recreational play and the competitive scene that Tennis Alberta provides. More importantly, it’s about the community and what we stand for—the connection and growth of tennis here in Edmonton. These one-day tournaments are where fun meets challenge, and everyone leaves better than they came!”

The tournament featured a great mix of familiar ETC players, members from other local clubs, and newcomers. The strong sense of community was supported by our dedicated volunteers, whose efforts kept matches organized and running on schedule which contributed to an enjoyable experience for all.

A huge thank you to every player, volunteer, and sponsor who helped make the Saville Co-Ed Doubles Tournament 2025 an outstanding success. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for future events!
